Sizing Your Tutu

How do I choose the right sized tutu for my special princess? Here is some information to help you make the decision:
At Tutu Fancy Designs all of my tutus (except my Ready to Ship listings) are CUSTOM MADE when you order. This allows you to select the sizing that works best for your little princess. Every Tutu Design is set up with a waist measurement and length (drop down) measurement. I offer a chart (see below) that suggests sizes based on ages; please remember that these are just generic suggested age ranges and correlating sizes (what works for one little princess does not always work for another little princess).
I HIGHLY recommend measuring your little princess prior to ordering (especially around the waist) to avoid a tutu that will be too big (and slide down on her during that special occasion) or too small (and be very uncomfortable). Always order the waist size that’s about ¼ to ½ an inch smaller than what her actual waist is for elastic waistbands, because they will stretch and grow with your little princess as she grows. For ribbon tied waistbands order exact measurement.
How do I measure my little princess?
Measuring for a Tutu Skirt:
First, measure her waist. *This is the really important measurement.* While your little princess is standing straight measure her around the waist at the smallest point, make sure that the measuring tape is around her waist nicely and not too loose since you want an accurate measurement. NEVER measure over bulky clothing.
Secondly, measure her length. You do this by starting the measuring tape at her waist (where the tutu will sit) and measure down to the length you would like the skirt to fall. **This step is optional; you really can’t go wrong with most suggested lengths (see below). But, if you have an exact length in mind, such as below the knees, at the knee, ankle length, etc. then you will need to measure your little princess. It is hard to say that a 10 inch length will be above the knee, at the knee or longer on all 1-2 year olds (we all know that princesses all have different lengths to their little legs).**
Measuring for a Tutu Dress:
First measure her chest. *This is the really important measurement.* While your little princess is standing straight measure her under the armpits and around the entire chest, make sure that the measuring tape is around her chest nicely and not too loose since you want an accurate measurement. NEVER measure over bulky clothing.
Secondly, measure her length. You do this by measuring her under the arm down to where you would like the dress to fall. If you plan on tying a ribbon under her chest or around her waist add an extra inch to the length. **This step is optional; you really can’t go wrong with most suggested lengths (see below). But, if you have an exact length in mind, such as below the knees, at the knee, ankle length, etc. then you will need to measure your little princess. It is hard to say that a 10 inch length will be above the knee, at the knee or longer on all 1-2 year olds (we all know that princesses all have different lengths to their little legs).**

If for any reason you are unsure, please measure your little princess because my tutus do not adjust down in size. Since all of my tutus are made custom to order and to the sizing you select I cannot be responsible for or accept returns on purchases in which incorrect sizes were selected.
