Annie Sloan Soft Wax is the perfect partner for Chalk Paint® decorative paint because they have been developed to work together. It can be used for protection and to give a beautiful mellow matte finish, or buffed to a lustrous sheen on painted furniture, cabinets , and walls. Our soft wax can be mixed with Chalk Paint® to make a colored wax - how amazing!
How to Use:
Apply the wax over the dried Chalk Paint® with a wax brush. You will need a brush for Clear Wax and a brush for Dark/Black Wax...never use the same brush for both waxes. The wax will deepen the color of the paint when applied, but on drying it won't be so apparent. Check to make sure you haven't applied too much wax by lightly dragging your finger over the Clear Wax. If you leave an impression gently swipe across the wax with a lint free cloth to remove any excess. For a distressed finish, rub gently with fine sand paper AFTER applying the Clear Wax while the wax is still "wet" (approx. 30 min.), then wax again where you have sanded. For a more pronounced aged look use Dark Wax over the Clear Wax while it is still wet working it in to any textures and remove the excess with a cloth. Allow the wax to cure 24 hours and buff to a lustrous finish.
To maintain your furniture use a mild soap and water or dust with a soft cloth. Annie Sloan Soft Wax is water repellent so it can be used on kitchen cabinets and table tops. Soft Wax is not recommended for use in areas subject to a lot of water. Clean you waxing brushes after use per instructions supplied with the brushes.
